Executive Summary 1. The study âPrivate Vocational Training and its Impact on Employment Opportunities in Indiaâ was carried out by CII at the request of GTZ during the period of August â December, 2001. The study covered 25 vocational training institutes located in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Ludhiana. The emphasis laid, during the study, was on Automobile and ancillary sector in Chennai, Information Technology and Garment Manufacturing in Bangalore, Information Technology in Hyderabad and Non-agricultural Sector in Ludhiana. |

OBJECTIVE ⢠To ensure suitable employability/self sustained (entrepreneur) activity ⢠The âVocational Learning & Entrepreneur Development Centresâ to be started at least âOne each in CLMV Countryâ. ⢠The suitable site for the each such Centre to be selected in co-operation with the Country and Local Government authorities. ⢠Active participation of all the stake holders i.e Government of India, Government of CLMV Country, State/District level Government representation, CII, Institute from India partnering this project, Existing local Institutional representation, Local NGOs, State/District Development Officer, Industry/Local Economic Development Association, Employment Officials. MISSION âTo train young youth from remote areas and integrate them into the economic mainstream. To be a role model, nationally, for mentoring and make them suitably employed and nurturing some of them to start small start up businesses be it in agro based sector, infrastructure, construction industry, hospitality services or any other area of economic activity.â |
