Started this concept by CII with three selected ITIs in Northern Region. ITI Solan, Himachal Pradesh ????????703 students trained by 278 industries for one month in-plant Industrial training ????????678 students visited 68 industries as part of industrial tour/ visits ????????The placement rate rose to 87.34% from 26% ????????66 experts from 41 industry delivered lectures at ITI ????????Funds worth Rs 6,53,844 generated till May 2004 ITI Ludhiana, Punjab ????????100 percent industrial training of students ????????New courses of Tool & Diemaking, Electroplater, Industrial Painting introduced ????????Factory visits and campus interviews in ITI ????????Visiting faculty from industry ????????Job work from industry ITI Gurgaon, Haryana ????????100 percent industrial training of students ?Involvement of experts from industries for maintenance and repair of machinery & equipment of the institute ????????Experts from industry delivered lectures at ITI ????????Factory visits and campus interviews ? The study “Private Vocational Training and its Impact on Employment Opportunities in India” was carried out by CII at the request of GTZ during the period of August – December, 2001. The study covered 25 vocational training institutes located in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Ludhiana. The emphasis laid, during the study, was on Automobile and ancillary sector in Chennai, Information Technology and Garment Manufacturing in Bangalore, Information Technology in Hyderabad and Non-agricultural Sector in Ludhiana.
Concept Paper for setting up Centres in CLMV Counties 2004 International Organisation Government and Institutes of LOA-PDR, Viet Nam, Cambodia and Myanmar OBJECTIVE • To ensure suitable employability/self sustained (entrepreneur) activity • The ‘Vocational Learning & Entrepreneur Development Centres’ to be started at least ‘One each in CLMV Country’. • The suitable site for the each such Centre to be selected in co-operation with the Country and Local Government authorities. • Active participation of all the stake holders i.e Government of India, Government of CLMV Country, State/District level Government representation, CII, Institute from India partnering this project, Existing local Institutional representation, Local NGOs, State/District Development Officer, Industry/Local Economic Development Association, Employment Officials. MISSION “To train young youth from remote areas and integrate them into the economic mainstream.
