Managed the Global Opportunities Fund (GOF) UK Project on Potential of Alternative Fuels in the context of Policy, Market and Technology options in India. It is a two years project under the climate change and energy security programme and we have included Coal bed Methane, Hydrogen and Gas Hydrate as case study. Based on our study we have prepared a policy paper in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to include these fuels in the mainstream fuel. 3. Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project activities Worked as consultant to the project proponent and providing them services across the CDM project cycle, which covered: • Identification of projects; • Preparing Project Design Document (PDD); • Facilitation of Host Country Approval (HCA); • Help the project proponent in Validation, Monitoring & Verification and Registration Process (identifying suitable operational entities); 4. Major components under this project (India part) include: a) Policy inventory: Identifying and categorizing policies relevant to adaptation to Climate change related water stresses and hazards coming from the main regulatory and implementing ministries and government departments, plus their statutory elements, such as laws, regulations and directives. b) Policy process analysis: exploring the objectives of policy making relevant to adaptation and to reveal how the policy makers’ theories of change translate into actions on policy development, policy establishment (law making, programmatic development, etc.) and policy implementation (the instruments used to put into operation and apply policy). c) Policy outcome analysis: understand and analyse how policies operating at different scales and sectors inter-relate, the other factors and processes that affect policy implementation, and the extent to which a policy is effective and coherent within the larger policy and regulatory framework. d) Policy impact analysis: assessing the extent to which policy implementation affects the ability of differentiated groups of people to effectively and autonomously adapt to water related stress and hazards in the context of climate change. |
